On the contrary, I think these short of intense efforts are only contributing to the trainings. On my program I saw an interval session and to make a cx-race into interval is easy! Also, when you are in a race, you don’t feel the pain, the suffering + it’s in a new area and you can do some exploring before and after the race, so, Vac cyclocross : the perfect solution for a great day of training!
It 10 o clock, I arrived in Vac. Took 30minutes to register, to prepare myself and the bike, have a chat with the guys and went for 1hr15min of exporing the south side of Vac downstream the Danube all the way to the first ferry boat. Nice small roads, beautiful old classy houses and a nice sun making me relax and dream away. At the end, I had to speed up to get back in time for the start :)
The race started at 12.10 and the track was similar to the one from last year, even a little better with some more steep climbs. I started in 3rd position and when the 2 guys in front got stuck on 1 of the steep climbs that I could make, I passed them and took 1stposition. Now, it was time to pull to 100% and find my plan. 1 loop took 6.5minutes and so it was too long to make it complete as an interval. So, I found 2 sections of 1.5min where I pulled 100 and 2 moments for resting and that was perfect! So, 9 loops, 18 intervals later, I arrived with a great feeling at the finish. Perfect, but now I went to the car, to make a quick change for dry clothes and hop, another hour of recovery riding – exploring. Man, what a great day!!
Thanks to the organizers to giving us a perfect race, maybe they can make 5 of thoise in that area and make a febr-march cup. That would make my life a whole lot nicer :)
See you
